Amanda Lane - Paralegal
Amanda Lane is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she majored in Anthropology and Latina/o Studies. Ms. Lane presented her Senior Honors thesis, entitled Working in the Shadows: Latina Domesticas and the Politics of Employment, at the University of Illinois Undergraduate Research Symposium in 2016, and was the recipient of the Prize for an Oral Presentation in the Education/Social Sciences/Humanities/Fine and Applied Arts fields. Ms. Lane's undergraduate research concentrated in domestic workers and day laborers, immigration, Latina/o politics, and feminism.
Ms. Lane has worked as a paralegal at Farooqi and Husain since late 2016, and concentrates in corporate, immigration, civil litigation, and family law and has exposure to estate planning and probate matters. Ms. Lane is planning on attending law school and is grateful for the opportunities at Farooqi and Husain.
In her spare time, Ms. Lane enjoys making obscure references to Star Wars movies and not getting caught in the rain.
Ashley Madryk - Paralegal
Ashley Madryk is a recent graduate of the University of Miami - May 2017, where she majored in Political Science and International Studies, with an emphasis on Middle Eastern Studies. During her time there, Ms. Madryk completed a Senior Honors Thesis titled: A Syrian Intervention: Illegal but Legitimate?? She also spent her free time on the baseball diamond as the President of the bat girl organization "Sugarcanes" for the NCAA Miami Hurricanes Baseball Team.
Ms. Madryk has worked as a paralegal at Farooqi and Husain since September of 2017, and concentrates primarily in Family Law. Her previous work experience includes working as an office assistant in the University of Miami Business Law Department for the past four years. She plans on attending law school in the future.
Ms. Madryk also splits her time as a full-time die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
