Erica Soto Gerena
Attorney
Erica received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2022. During law school, she interned at the Chicago-Kent Family Law Clinic and assisted with a variety of family law matters. She also served as the treasurer of the Racial Equity Advocacy Alliance. As a student received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for earning the highest-class grade in her Justice and Technology class.
Erica graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and Political Science. While there she also interned at a small family law firm.
Prior to joining Farooqi & Husain, Erica clerked at a real estate law firm where she aided clients in a variety of areas including landlord-tenant law, small business claims, and contract negotiations.
Here at Farooqi & Husain, Erica works primarily in family law matters. Her areas of work include divorce, child support, parenting time and decision-making issues, and more.
Erica is bilingual in Spanish and English. As a proud Latina, she hopes to bring equal access to justice to all in need.
